NASREEN MOHAMEDI

Mohamedi is often associated with artist agnes martin, an artist who sparked my inspiration at the beginning of my project. This artists has inspired me greatly as within her work she has managed to create the effect of simplicity at the same time as intricacy and beauty. This is something that i am trying to achieve. The highlight of this artist's work for me is how she has used fine and simple lines in contrast with bold dark likes in order to create a place of focus and more structure within her work. I feel that this would also be an effective approach to my work this week, however i would like to experiment with doing this while using other more 3d materials to add more dimension and impact to my work. I also like the colour scheme that she uses in her work as it is similar to mine, however as she only work in black and white i feel this is something i would like to try again as it does not dictreact from the work itself and again adds a higher contrast. Finally mohamedi is inspired by architecture and geometry, this therefore has pushed me further to take photos as my primary research which will therefore allow me to use architecture and my surroundings influence my work and its formatting.

ANDREA ZITTEL

zittel has a strong fascination with grids and their format. I have noticed that this is a recurring theme throughout my work due to my use of line and structure and therefore wanted to look into the work of this artist further so it could influence me further as it is a route which i would like to look down. I wish to transfer the 3d aspect of zitelis work into mine as i feel it is effective when looking into both structure and grids as i would b e able to manipulate my materials into the shape i desire.
