GATHER - to accumulate, to bring together, to infer, to collect (bring together references, quotes, images and ideas)

WHAT OBJECTS? - personal interests, found objects, images (tv, film stills, newspapers, surroundings, social media, own images) moving images, drawings (marks), test (social media, books, articles)

ASSEMBLE - to fit together, to fabricate, to set up, (bring things together, consider their relationships and how they are represented)

HOW TO ASSEMBLE? - collages, sculpture, layered drawings, diptychs, triptychs

CONNECT - to parallel with, to link, to relate to (bringing together concepts through ideas and marks and other mediums)

HOW TO CONNECT? - draw out and reflect of successful elements within work

Although the task of 30 pieces of work in 3 days was daunting at first i intend to tackle it successfully and believe i can create this amount of work, however some may not be as successful and refines as other pieces, however this also may be the point of the task.

Although at first i was unsure where my starting point would be in terms of gathering i was open to exploration. Initially i made a mind map in order to see where this starting point could take me, however when looking back at my ideas they seemed a little too ambitious for the the beginning of the pathways and i felt they would not do my work justice. Therefore from this i decided to take photos of things that appealed to me around the studio and after a short time saw an evident correlation of stripes and lines within my mages and decided to go from there. Although these images were not of a high quality i did not feel this mattered too much as their purpose was to spark my imagination and a flow. However i did decided to edit these images in order to give them a more interesting effect to make me think more laterally. This is because i have see in reflection of my first projects, those with a strong focus of lateral thinking have been the most successful, meaning i want to continue looking into this concept. I feel that these edits are successful and creating intriguing effects which i wanted to work from to put a more fine art effect on my work as opposed to having more digital work.

I now have ideas for future pieces from this images explorations and intend to explore different mediums such as drawing, stitch, paint, wire and ink.
