Adam Broomberg and Oliver Chanarin - These artists explored the creative process through design and fine art process as well as media. This couple are also inspiring as they only work form what inspired them, topics such as politics and war which allows them to make thought provoking and impactful interesting works. To make this impact these artists often use the concept of appropriation and therefore use other people's work and skills to inform their work and from their resolved pieces instead of working alone, it is clear from this that the idea of a collaboration is very effective.

Roger Ballen - the way this artist creates incredibly insightful and intriguing photos from simple black and white images is very inspiring. These photos are different and unique from may other artists, this is a result of his long creative process and hand on approach to creating his work.

Jim Goldburg - the use of text within goldberg's work is what makes it so unique and interesting, but bringing to light social issues and other emotions to light as clear as possible, but also in a aesthetically pleasing and intriguing way. Here the way the text is applied to the image is most important as it is imperative to make it look right.

Alvin Langdon Coburn - i like the use of layering in many of his artists which distorts or adds contrast to the original images my changing the opacity, allowing him to even create optical illusions, meaning that there is more interest and intrigue within his edits, making the viewer more likely to like the image and pay it attention as more brain power and focus is required to fully take in the images. I also like the way that this technique can often create an emotional atmosphere and can make an image have more feeling within it.

John Stezaker - this photographer is especially inspiring as he takes old images and layer them to create new collages. The effect of this is very successful as they often take two different subjects when layering their images which can form a more contemporary feel form old images at the same time as portraying two different emotions. Often feeling of love or pride mixed with the feeling of freedom and tranquility. I like this approach to collage as it is not busy and therefore allows the viewer to clearly see what the artist is trying to portray with just one glance, it also is an effective use of archives as it shows that visual language can create a new meaning, something i wish to look into.

Stephen Gill - this artist is a photographer who edits their photos practically as opposed to digitally. Although i am not too interested in his technique of putting items in the lense to create an effect, i think the idea and method is very interesting and intrigues me as i definitely enjoyed the practical workshop which also allowed me to edit my photos in a different way to usual. I also like the use of dull colouring within his images, something i would like to look into, as so far i have only used black and white filters within this project.

Annette Messager - ‘my vows’ - this set of work is interesting as a result of how it has been presented, the strong and cold frames make the images have more impact and as there are many different images the piece as a whole is more interesting to me. Although i like this style of work i feel that when looking at the images individually i feel they are more atmospheric and meaningful, as a result i would like to also see how the opposite approach would be, therefore keeping a very simple and perhaps even bland presentation in order to create a different atmosphere.

Amelie Petit Moreau - i kfine this artist's work extremely aesthetically pleasing and find that in some pieces, such as the first image, the stripes make a very complimenting effect to the work as show real structure at the same time as spontaneity which is something i would like to achieve within my work. Furthermore in other pieces, such as the second image, her use of texture and black inks and paint to create more impact and pattern is also very aesthetically pleasing. I would like to try doing this over some on my images as i feel it would create another dimension within my work and allow me to experiment with fine art processes within media. Moreover, at i am working with old images, doig contemporary style paint work over them may complement them and bring them into modern life.
