Design has never been a strength of mine or something that i have never been particularly ben interested in. although i am interested in 3D in a fine art style, i feel the concept of design does not suit my more free flowing style of work. Furthermore as i am heavily inspired by culture, politics and emotion, i feel that often design and the idea of functionality within art can remove the emotion that these topics create and is often not the correct way to portray a message effectively. Moreover, the viewer's interpretation aspect of contemporary art can also be lost within design unless fine art aspects are incorporated. I found this throughout the workshop as although i feel the original piece i made with a group of two others, was effective stylish and meaningful whereas when we were challenged to upscale it to make it functional and awearable piece, i feel it lost its charm and uniqueness. I also enjoyed the initial stages when fine art drawing and planning occurred, i feel here i produced some of my best work in the workshop.

Despite this i am still ready to embrace the course and try to produce good and aesthetically pleasing work to adapt my way of lateral thinking and focus on my skills of refinement and realistic design - an imperative aspect of the design process. Furthermore i am intrigued about fashion design as a result of my interest in printmaking, i therefore would like to this aspect of design further throughout the project.
